I purchased a pair of glasses after having cataract surgery. Bad choice of choosing Lens Crafters. After receiving my new glasses I complained that the right lens had 2 spots that I could see when viewing through the lens. The service person indicated that they were a...

All techs suck, do not trust them. Only way they learn is if we cull the tech heard or hit their money hard, best thing is to never pay anyone in a tech field. All techs screw the customers.

Went in for the 2 pairs of glasses for $99 dollars (or so I thought), ended up paying nearly $300 bucks total, for eye wear that didn't even last me a year. Not even a week after I got my glasses, the screw fell out of the frame, and needed to be replaced. A month...

Awful, awful company. I came with a staph infection in both eyes due to their habit of never cleaning the eye paddles between patients.

They just chuck it back in the drawer. I am paying a lot out of pocket now for medical care for this with more to come. AND the opthamologist said the prescription was totally wrong so there goes the $$ FOR THREE GLASSES AND 100 CONTACT LENSES.

Prices?

Very very high. Slow service, dirty and expensive.

Why would anyone go there? I will never again.

LensCrafters review in Dallas, Texas: Completely ignored by sales staff

After purchasing glasses at this location for the past 10 years it is over. The sales staff completely ignored us for over a half hour. No they were not busy, just lazy. Maybe they just had a problem that we were not the same color as the sales staff. This is the Macon Ga Mercer drive location. The sales person migrated to a customer that entered the store after we did. The person at the service counter also ignored us and never once asked if she could help. We had selected our purchase and waited to no avail. This store has lost sales totaling $1,100.00 from us plus future sales.

Lenscrafter's is a fraud by keeping insurance deductible and not passing on the insured. They thought that they could get away with this fraud aka senior abuse because the customer was in her 70's with some dementia. After threatening to make report to police they...

Lenscrafters Kingston Ma not very good

Went ot Lenscrafters at Indp Mall, Kingston (mall itself is a dying breed) Have been there before, and overlooked some types of service issues. This past time, was the last. Went for new contacts and glasses in Dec 2011. 2 weeks after, glasses were ready--and they were delivered scratched. The anti glare coating. I showed them, and asked they be replaced (this happened to me before, with glasses purchased in 2009) this time, it took at bit longer, and when ready--this time, the clerk cleaned them, and scratched the lenses. she used a dirty cleaning cloth and did not use the "required" cleaner. So, here we go again! they have to redo them. I go in yesterday to get them, and store is busy, and just 2 people. I wait for about a half hour, and then when its my turn, I tell them to just return them, and I will go elsewhere. Store seems dirty, not well run, and an inept sales crew who are more than happy to try and upsell you, but I am sorry-when you are spending over 500.00 for a pair of glasses, they should be not scratched, or get scratched when you clean them, using their cleaning supplies!

LensCrafters review in Dallas, Texas: New Year - Same Stuff!

3/14/2011 - Happy New Year! Luxottica and it's affiliate stores still suck! Target Optical has had my glasses for over a month; promised to me in 10 days. I took my RX and current frames for updating. Store employees are rude and have a "don't care attitude", they refuse to give you contact information for upper management. Finally contacted Luxottica, who kept re-routing me back to the locals; I refused to work with the locals. Luxottica relented and call the regional store mgr. Regional Mgr in TX contacted me, offered me my money and frames back. Back to square #1 - No glasses! Gotta love em'

LensCrafters review in Dallas, Texas: Over a month and still have not recieved glasses

After a bad experience 4 years ago I decided to give Lens crafters another chance. January 9th, 2011, I had a eye exam, ordered glasses and paid for them in full. I was told it would be no longer then 2 weeks and i would have my glasses. Needless to say, I pay over 600 dollars for my glasses. It is now February 4th, 2011 and I have yet to recieve my glasses. I recieved no curtisy calls to explain the situation. I have had to call each week only to get a run around and attitude. I personally will never be a customer there again I have had the same exaxt problem twice, 4 years ago and present. I realize it is not a fluke its Lens Crafters that is the problem....

oh my Gosh, I had the same experience as the OP and I am still waiting for my glasses, I received no call and each time I called, they gave me the runaround and I was really never given the reason as for why it took so long(They originally said it will be 2 weeks, it has been a month and I am still waiting for it!!!)This is the Lenscrafters in Del Amo mall of Torrance, CA,not the one next to Victoria's Secret since they have 2 offices in the mall.

As a member of The BBB, Lenscrafters has an "unsatisfactory" rating.

You can easily receive the BBB report.

Call The BBB and you will receive an automated service that will ask you to type in lenscrafters local phone number.

You will immediately find out lenscrafters has for years earned The BBB's lowest rating.

Lenscrafter is not the only national optical that has earned very low marks for price issues and service issues. "Consumer Reports" lists other national opticals to strongly avoid due to excessive and very misleading pricing, regular & repeated consumer complaints regarding "Bait & Switch" issues and much, much more.

When you call a doctor's office or optical and ask "how much is" regarding contacts, frames & lenses and you don't know what lenses you want, what prescription you need, what frame you prefer & what you may wish added to the lenses, you are telling the person at the doctor's office or national optical to lie to you, mislead you, say anything they've been instructed & trained during required lectures to pull you in by giving you a low price that doesn't ever-NEVER exist. Once they start writing up your order and the prices are always $100.- $300. higher than they stated on the phone, you'll start to learn why it is IMPOSSIBLE to shop for glasses over the phone & Internet. They are well trained by experts to lie & mislead. Once you say the well worn phrase “give me a “Ballpark or range of prices” you have told them to LIE to you, and they will lie to you. Additionally, how can you expect to receive a "Ballpark" or range of prices whan you have NO IDEA what you really need or want? Do you ever call a grocery & ask the "Ballpark" price of a bag of groceries?

Stevens.

$600.+ for ANY glasses?

Are you insane?

They are actually robbing you blind.

Even invisible bifocals cost lenscrappers

less than $50.00-

partially because of their volume purchasing, also because they don't use the best, only some name brands so you are tricked into thinking you received something worth 5 times more than it cost lenscrafters.

Your $600. actually pays for their massive advertising and corporate officials in Italy & Ohio's world wide vacations!

Cancel your order before you pick up those extremely overpriced glasses. Their policy allows you to cancel. Explore all your local opticals and take your $300. savings and invest in a web site to announce to the world how another national optical attempted to ROB you.

@Steven's

"Transitions" cost local opticals more than $50.00

European & USA frames cost more than $50.00

"Crizal's" premium Anti-Reflection cost more than $50.00.

"Free-Form" & "Digital" no-line progressives cost more than $50.00

Just drilling many lenses can cost more than $50.00

"Vantage" cost more than $50.00.

Yes, Lens Crappers does need/require/use much of your money for advertising, as do ALL national opticals that use inferior products, bait & switch without your knowledge, but there are cost to which you are obviously unaware.

Those "cheap" Chinese frames on your face...are you aware of the toxic chemicals being absorbed into your skin, leading to cancer? Look at the inside of the temples, the parts along your face? Corrosion? cancer!

I understand the awkwardness in this situation, but do you really think that Lenscrafters encourages this behavior? It was one bad employee.

Lenscrafters will not honor defective product

I bought $500 Chanel Sunglasses, polorized, no-line bifocals, non stratch, all the pluses. I took them back after one lense started cracking inside the lense. I was told by the manager that there are no coatings on this lense, but they buy the lense, then cut it to fit my RX and frame. She talked me like a 10 year old on how to take care of my glasses. I have been wearing glasses for 45 years and I have three pair, all purchased at Lenscrafters in NE Mall in Hurst, Tx., and I paid $500 or more for each pair. Lenscrafters will not replace the lense for me because the manager says that most people get new glasses every year anyway! This was a defective lense and I have been told that by several other eyeglass places. Shame on you, Lenscrafters, for being such a scam. Shame on you, Lenscrafters, for not standing behind your product. Too much money for such shotty products. I will never go back there.

GE Money Bank "lost our account info in the mail." at the three week mark I returned to lensecrafters to find out how to contact GE and get my bill. They ran us in circles for a hour giving store info and my info so they could give me my account number to come to the last requirement I have to have my account number to get my account number.

At less than two months I had the store retract the purcahse from the card and paid them in the store.

GE Money Bank is still refusing to close my account and claim I owe late charges. I had them read my address back to me. the just dropped one digit from my PO box. My town is very small.

I refuse to believe they sent a letter with the correct name street address and one digit off of the POB and the postal staff couldn't figure it out. GE is sneaky and unethical do not do business with any store ccard backed by them.
