As of 2009, Lenscrafters will no longer match thier employees 401k contributions. They are reducing Full-time hours, taking away portions of employees Paid-Time-Off and reducing raises for annual performance reviews. What a great way to say thanks to your employees for helping you to increase your sales by 10%. Please add your comments!

Important : LUXOTTICA'S FY 2008 CONSOLIDATED NET SALES UP BY 10.7%.

The incentive for young people has been that matching funds that companies have been supplying to them and now without that, I think the incentive to save is going to be plunging.

The answers to your questions are simple. I will help you since you are so un-informed.

1) The lenses at Luxottica oned outlets are different because of different offerings, but mainly because of overhead. Pearle and Sears do not have labs in house, so it costs more at Lenscrafters. That's simple economics. 2) The factory warranty is honored if the product is defective.

The 1/2 price replacement is for product the consumer has broken or damaged on their own. 3) The doctors are independent (except in California) and do not prescribe lenses. They only so the exams. 4) Returned frames are sent to a central area, re-tagged as returned, then sent back to the stores for clearance sale at a much lower price.

This is fone only after assuraing that the frames are in "like new" condition.

The others are discarded. Do your homework Idioc.

This company will not change unless its made to changeYou all as consumers have a vote.... its your pocket book. You all have the power to affect change and this blog is not where to do it. I agree, your State Attorney General Office is your lawyer for hire..... and you already paid for the services with your tax dollars.Things to consider before you contact them:

1)Why do glasses lenses at different Luxottica owned retail outlets cost different prices. IE why are lenses at Lenscrafters more than Perle and Sears when they are exactly the same and often made in the same lab......curious????

2) Luxottica makes frames and sells them to private practice doctors with at least a one year warranty. So why do you have to pay for 1/2 the frame price to get the same warranty in a Luxottica retail outlet. Shouldnt they honor their own factory warranty in their own stores? ...... curious????

3)Luxottica subsidizes the rent of many of the Doctors offices inside their stores, and pressures them to prescribe only their lenses.... hmmmm curious????

4) Luxottica puts customer returned frames back on the shelf as new product and resells them as new..... Curious???

Was your frame New? Have you paid for a waranty replacement? Did the doctor "encourage" you to buy a specific type of lens offered "next door" or walk you over to the retail floor?

The complaints are many, but action is scant at best. People use the tools you have and make them play by the rules.

The only people that benefit in this company are the RDO's, RQC's and GM's that KISS THEIR ***!!! I have worked for LC for over 5 years and I SEE what goes on.

Specifically Region 39.

On top of all this, they let ex-felons (knowingly) work in their stores!!! And they hold that against them!!!

I do wonder what there CEO of both Lux and lenscrafters are taking home - these days - ?

We don't here them saying that they will take 1 dollar for their salarys like we do some other large corps -

i was told that they actually had the nerve to tell the staff that they care about the store folks and that is why they are not taking raises for anyone above the store level- yet u don't hear anything about the ceo- VP ect - taking anything less -

if i had a job with them - and had a car - a credit card - and all - i really wouldn't complain or say anything either

DON'T YOU FIND IT ODD THAT THEY SAY THE 401K IS CANCELLED HERE IS THE STATES FOR THEIR FOLKS YET CANANDA 'S BENEFIT THEY ARE NOT SUSPENDING -- WHY YOU MIGHT ASK - BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT GET AWAY WITH THAT UP THERE- I AM Surprised many did not pick up on that !

as for those customers saying - " these associates get commissions ect - like it is so so much -

From what i hear - IT is TOTALLY based on sales - so if the store does not make its goal - they get NOTHING - so u have a person making maybe 10 bucks per hour - and there normal - 1-2 bucks in extras are gone now to -

COME ON FOLKS wake up - i feel bad for them -

MAYBE is they did not buy everything and their MOTHER in the last 2 years or dod not pay 2 BILLION cash for oakley - they would not have to treat there staff like this !!

they knew the the economy was heading yet they bought and bought things up - and now they tell the folks -

YOUR SOL - since we just had to have all these things -

i wonder how much $ - they lost on buying up those things like

things remembered and BJ's Optcial - and then unloaded them - you know they took a hit there

THE TRUTH:

Lenscrafters employees are paid commissions on the amount of sales they create. The consumer has no idea that they are being SOLD by commissiond sales people.

Luxottica owns Lenscrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears, JC Penny and Target Optical. The next time you need eyewear go to a locally owned Optician.

Lenscrappers / Luxottica makes most of its revenue on the backs of the private practice. Luxottica wholesale revenue is up nearly 20%. And as a special thank you to the private practicioners who drive the business Luxittica opens Lenscrappers to compete with us.

Good-freakin' Lord. I know a many of us are upset by what's going on, myself included. But I'm more concerned about still having a job.

Would you rather they just lay a bunch of us off so that they can keep giving us that measly raise we get each year?

Oh, and this is not the place for your gripes. This is for actual consumers to vent their actual (or imagined) issues.
