The Lenscrafters purchase of Tiffany eyeglass frames at a near $500 cost, was not backed by any guarantee when the hinge became loose and rendered the frames useless. Shuffled from one manager to another, I was finally sent to a fix-quick to get the frame soldered at another cost of $65.

One hour sales seems to be the only requisite and I noticed a rather long line of customer complaints. Obviously the need for speed and out the door is more valuable to the company than customer satisfaction and so they have one less buyer in the Northridge area.

I also purchased the Tiffany frames in March. The black coating on the frame started peeling off in the last month.

I took the glasses back to Lens Crafters and luckily I purchased a protection plan but still had to pay $25 for new frames.

They had the same frame available and were able to pop my lenses into the new frame. I will never buy expensive frames again!!

I purchased Tiffany frames also. They constantly needed tightened and the black started fading by the temples where it says "Tiffany & Co.".

I took them to LensCrafters, since it must be a manufacturing defect, and they said I would have to purchase new frames. I spent almost 600 dollars on my lenses and frame.

They should have lasted for more than one year! I will never, EVER, spend that much on glasses (especially at LensCrafters) again.

I had a similar problem with Tiffany frames. I live in a small town with the closest Lenscrafters located in Eugene @ 3 hours away.

I purchased my (very expensive!) frames a year ago and and the screw fell out of one of the arms. I was in Eugene today and took my glasses to Lenscrafters. I was told that the screws in the Tiffany frames are larger than any other brand and that they didn't have a replacement. When I asked what to do, the salesperson said they didn't know and suggested I go to a Tiffany store!

Seriously. How ridiculous is it to sell an item but only a year later have no replacement parts.

The closest Tiffany to me is in Seattle so it looks like I'm stuck with a pair of pricey glasses that I can't wear. Horrible customer service.

Well just to let you know as I've got many years under my belt in the optical world, Tiffany screws aren't any larger than the screws in say a Polo Ralph Lauren frame or Burberry. There have been a handful of times when I've run into a frame with a screw thats smaller than what I have at my disposal, not an issue where the screw needed is larger as theres always a solution for that.

LensCrafters carries a wide variety of screws that can fix the issue. The only time I've come into this issue with a frame LensCrafters carries is ONE particular frame model from Elizabeth Arden.

I concur. I had a similar expierince whereby I bought a very expensive pair of Tiffany eyeglasses that I love.

The frame broke so I took them back to Lenscrafters where they were purchased. The person who helped me was not very attentive and not very helpful.

He gave me the cards for two other shops in the area that might be able to fix my frames. I was somewhat disappointed.
