Glasses Review

I requested to have my glasses tightened. The lens crafter technician heated up my glasses. This caused my lens to fragment. I complained but was told that i had agreed to not hold lens crafter responsible if something happened to my glasses. I was given opportunity for repair at a discount. I did not get the amount of discount since I did not agree that I should.

The Lenscrafters purchase of Tiffany eyeglass frames at a near $500 cost, was not backed by any guarantee when the hinge became loose and rendered the frames useless. Shuffled from one manager to another, I was finally sent to a fix-quick to get the frame soldered at...

I also purchased the Tiffany frames in March. The black coating on the frame started peeling off in the last month.

I took the glasses back to Lens Crafters and luckily I purchased a protection plan but still had to pay $25 for new frames.

They had the same frame available and were able to pop my lenses into the new frame. I will never buy expensive frames again!!

It's not about, "next time make an appointment." If they take walk-ins and the customer asks how long, the proper response is the truth, "It may take a few minutes to a few hours, I'd strongly recommend you make an appointment if you cannot wait." Simple, now the walk-in has a choice to make. If you tell someone a few minutes, that isn't an hour, and they have every right to be pissed. It's called customer service.

LensCrafters review in Los Angeles, California: Customer Complain

I turned in my glasses for replacement of the frame on 11/30/11, They told me that they will locate a frame like mine to fix them. I have been calling for my glasses because I AM UNABLE TO WORK and they say they haven't locate the frame to call again. I feel this is a very irresponsible part of Lenscrafter. I ask them to give me a refund for the glasses and they refuse to do it. I have been a costumer for a long time and every year I spent over $1000.00 to get my glasses. This time I am very dissapointed of the service that they have provided. Please I am submitting this complain hoping that somebody will be able to do something so the Montclair, CA store refunds my money because now I don't want anything to do with this company

I agree with Blake. Lenscrafters doesnt truly care about their "patients".

They treat you like a customer. Local opticians treat you like a patient because that's what you should be. If you don't need Anti glare coatings then why buy it? But trust me they will find a way to..

bottom line is how much money are you spending. That gets you better treatment. And a happier salesperson. At small businesses you get recommended what you need.

You get better service. And better prices and quality!

"Mom and pop" optical shops are rip offs. They hike up the price by the hundreds that the wholesale labs are selling and pass that to you. Every business is flawed

Amen Blake. I too have been in this business for many years and have gone from large chain (LC) and learned my lesson, small business is the way to go. We care for our patients and not for just the bottom line.

I am so sorry to hear that you are having the problems you are having. I am in the Optical business, my family has been for over 75 years.

I will tell you that you can find much better service and quality buy doing business with local Opticians. My store has use to carry 300+ frames from Luxottica. I now have (zero) because they have linked with Lens Crafters. If you want overpriced poor quality Lens Crafters is the place.

My suggestion is to take you glasses and go to a local Optician who in 15min can put your lenses in a better frame and will help you. For those who read this, please know that big businesses like Lens Crafters, Sears, Target are all in the Lens Crafters family.

Give a local Mom and Pop Optical your business. There is a reason they have been in business for so long.

LensCrafters review in Los Angeles, California: No customer service, a month later I still don't have my glasses..

I have had the worst experience so far at Lenscrafters here in Torrance, CA. I am a new customer and wanted to try them out,and guess what?I will never go back to this company, not only that, I will tell all my friends and families how bad they are.I ordered my glasses on March 31 and it has been 4 weeks still no glasses!!Today is April 27!!!I never received calls from them, I have to call them all the time and everytime I got a different time frame. They have so many excuses, first it was that the they made the lenses with wrong prescription, second time it was the lenses didn't pass inspection in the factory level, the last time I called, it is about the weather in Ohio!!Give me a break!!! I am so pissed at them, seriously, I have been wearing glasses since I was 16 and I have never ever been treated like this. There is no customer service, each time I have to call to check the status of my lenses and everytime when I call, it seems that I am bothering them!!What a *** company, I paid over 350 dollars out of pocket and this is the service I get! Don't go to lenscrafters, you will end up paying top dollar for the worst service!!! I am gonna go to the store tomorrow to see what another excuse they will give me, stay tuned in!

LensCrafters review in Los Angeles, California: Apalling service, inept, unprofessional = AVOID!

We live in Santa Monica, CA, and had British friends on vacation who needed prescription sunglasses right away, so we took them to our local Lenscrafters store on 321 Wilshire Blvd. Our friends bought 3 pairs of glasses, including one with a prescription they had brought from England, and another that required an eye exam at the Lenscrafters store. Our friends were not impressed with the lack quality and thoroughness of the eye exam, but it got worse: when they picked up the glasses, (1) the lenses were progressive instead of solid color as specifically requested; (2) the pupil distance was wrong; (3) one of the lenses' strength was completely wrong. All despite multiple "measurements" by a sales representative who couldn't care less. We took the glasses back to Lenscrafters. They agreed to refund the lenses, but not the exam, which they called "unrefundable service". Yet, they could not make the refund at the store because their computers were down! They told us to arrange the refund by phone the next day. When we called to arrange the refund over the phone, the person we spoke to had no clue what to do, and told us to go back to the store. Unfortunately, our friends were flying away that night, so we went to the store for them, and the store manager did indeed refuse to refund the eye exam -- telling us stories about how service is non-refundable, how she had similar problems with her dentist, etc. We got written a proof of the refund on the lenses for our friends, but we are taking this matter all the way up Lenscrafters' food chain if necessary, as our -- and our friends' -- experience with them has been a disaster from the moment we stepped into their store. We feel genuinely embarrassed to have recommended Lenscrafters to our friends, who didn't have much time to visit Santa Monica/Los Angeles, and wasted a ridiculous amount of it dealing with Lenscrafters' appalling A-Z ineptitude -- while also wasting money. We will never recommend Lenscrafters to anyone ever again, and we certainly won't entrust our eyesight with that low quality, low expertise, and low service chain. There are plenty of professional, better-value alternatives in and around Santa Monica, so avoid Lenscrafters at all costs!

UPDATE 8/5/10: I emailed Lenscrafters' customer service per their comment above to explain the situation, and they promptly arranged for a refund. Though my friends were not happy with their experience at the Lenscrafters store, the corporate customer service was outsanding: courteous, prompt and efficient. It's definitely a :)
