I had the same exact thing with my glasses. Lenscrafters would not stand behind them as I had not purchased a "Protection Plan".

They did offer me a 30% discount on a new pair of lenses, as they are only made in pairs, according to them. They gave me a price of $340. some dollars, which is ten dollars less than I paid for the glasses. I told them to shove it.

We're all done. That's how a customer of 22 years is treated?

Never again. I went elsewhere and had the defective lens replaced at a cost of $113.00.

Deception at Lenscrafters, Arizona Mills, Tempe

Ordered new lenses. After getting home, I noticed an additional charge on the receipt for their Eyeware Protection Plan-$34.99. This had never been mentioned or discussed with me by the salesperson(who was also the store manager). There were also 2 discounts listed 1) AAA-15% Partials and 2) Global Discount-$25 off complete pair. When I returned to pick up the new lenses I asked that the $34.99 be refunded to me. I was told that the $25 Global discount was tied to the EPP and that they would only refund $9.99. I spent 40 minutes arguing with the store staff and the manager (by phone) that these were shady and illegal practices. The manager offered 2 options 1) cancel the order or 2) accept the 9.99 refund. I refused. Eventually, one of the store staff agreed to refund the $34.99. However, though the original charge was debited from my account instantly, the refund has yet to appear. I believe these are bait and switch tactics and even if the refund does eventually appear there was never any acknowledgement of error or apology for the hassle. STAY AWAY

I regret that you were not advised of the charge for the 1-Year Eyewear Protection Plan and that you're frustrated with your experience. If the store processed a refund to your credit card, it can take around 5 to 7 business days for you to see the amount back in your account. Please email iCare@LensCrafters.com with more information if there's anything that I can try to do to help.

Went into lenscrafters at Arrowheaad mall in Glendale AZ to get a copy of last years receipts. The pld lady was so mean and rude, finally got thwm and left. Two weeks later I had to go back in to get a copy of the Rx that was put into the glasses and tha old lady said...

The receipt should have been easy to get for you. The copy of the rx is a different story.

In most LensCrafters the dr's office next door is a separate business. LensCrafters doesn't keep the written rx...it is usually given back to the customer.

Your rx was written by the doctor...you should make your request to the doctor's office for a copy of your rx. :sigh

Now you know what thousands of us have experienced at LC.

They advertise themselves as an American/Ohio company, but they are an Italian conglomerate. More attempts at misleading us.

Why anyone would pay triple at LC is amazing!

Even with 50% off lenses, their lenses are way expensive & their frames are WAY, WAY overpriced.

LC stnads for "Little Consideration" in your case.

LensCrafters review in Phoenix, Arizona: Lens Crafters Comes Through For Me

Getting my Versage eye wear repaired or replaced started out to be a major, major ordeal. The Lens Crafters in Plainfield, Indiana at first did not want to repair or replace the eyewear that was slightly over a year old. But, I will say the store manager (Jennifer) stepped up to the plate, and not only replaced them, but gave me another pair as well, along with a few months supplies for cleaning the glasses. Persistence and getting a hold of the proper manager was the key. Thank you Jennifer and Lens Crafters for going the extra mile on this.

Hahahahah. "Thanks Lens Crafters for going the extra mile for me"???

No Consumerbill....YOU went the extra mile to get someone to take care of what should have been taken care of withOUT you having to be persistent and get a hold of the proper manager.

The very fact that you had to be persistant to get results proves their LACK of customer service.

Ok, show of hands.....who thinks Consumerbill's real name is JENNIFER????

Lenscrafters today quoted me DOUBLE what other stores charge. I checked with local eye glass stores and called one at home that I have used. All quoted me $180 for top lense and including anti-glare. Lenscrafters quoted $380 but said they have a sale going on and offer...

Lenscrafter 50% or 40% discount is a scam. You get cheaper price on same item elsewere and you cannot use your insurance of you avail of their discount.

I didn't see anywhere in your complaint where you said you had an order placed. Lenscrafters will not order glasses until they are paid for, period.

Also, $85.00 sounds more like the cost of an eye exam. Are you sure you're beef is not with the INDEPENDANT doctor inside of the Lenscrafters store?

LensCrafters review in Phoenix, Arizona: LensShafters..a Cult

I purchased a pair of glasses from the Shoddy establishment, and will NEVER return..staff was RUDE, "so called" manager rude also, after waiting 3 WEEKS for a single vision pair of glasses,in which the frames were damaged upon receipt, I will tell ALL not to purchase there. After speaking to "Upper Management" named Joey?, i am convinced their company is run by complete *** As others have posted here, I too believe they practice "Bait and Switch" trying to push their "coatings", empty promises as to when you will receive your purchase, and amazingly how their "Glasses in ABOUT an Hour" turned a simple near-sighted glasses order into a three-week fiasco...I returned them, and went to COSTCO...fabulous price (non-glare included), 169.00 total, and true to their word on FOUR DAY DELIVERY. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM LENS-SHAFTERS, especially in Scottsdale, AZ.

Too bad the lease monkey optometrists have no control over even what they do (which is against the law in all states) -- he/she probably could have seen to it that the lens-shafter upsellers didn't ***.

P.S. Their "featherwates" is just polycarb - a lousy material with high abberration - NOT a true high index material.

In response to LC Associate. Are you the "other MORAN"?

Do you not listen to your customers. This customer said he waited 3 weeks for his pair of glasses. This is false advertisement. Far from "Glasses in about an hour".

You're telling me you get "Cheap Lenses in an hour" - maybe you need to change your advertisement to that.

If you don't like your job or haven't devloped "thick skin" working for LC, maybe you should find another job that you can handle. Too bad his glasses were damaged upon receipt.

My I ask what type of Rx you have? Sorry if we push coatings that will enhance your eyewear...

In most cases we will never have to order lenses for that don't need it. Lets say you have a high Rx, and you get the "about an hour" pair, granted you will get some great lenses, but they will not look the greatest as they can. You have no idea what it is like to deal with the masses of completely rude customers for having an order not completed after 2 days, when specifically told it would take approx. 2 weeks.

So before you start bashing people that work for lenscrafters put yourself in our shoes... its our job to get you in the best lenses for your purpose.

You can always say no i want cheap lenses in an hour, and we'll do it with a smile. If we don't we'd be out of a job.
