Lenscrafters - Sferoflex Frame Review from West Springfield, Massachusetts
Picked up glasses on my way to work. After checking them out i find the frames are twisted and one lens not installed correctly.
Screw head holding lens on same side as bad install was badly rounded over. Presciption also seemed wrong. Called manager at Enfield CT Lenscrafters and found out frames were discontinued. When returning the next day to resolve the issues I showed the frames and was asked what was wrong.
I said you tell me, however they replied they saw nothing wrong with them. She gave them to someone else who never even taked to me. He takes them in the back room and proceedes to refit the lens. I had informed the first girl that i would not accept that fram back as it had been bent.
Guy comes back and says i should be set. It went downhill from there. Worst attitude and customer service ever. Got my money back and will never go back.
They sell old stock and discontinued frames at list prices. Also do not use name brand lenses.
Extremely Disappointing

$550 pair of glasses with "watermark" etched in them WTheck?
I finally got enough money to afford new glasses and went in to lenscrafters because they supposedly make them in an hour. Well when I ordered them it was Jan 2.
they said they had to send them out so maybe 10 days, well I did not receive them until Jan 23. When I called about them I kept getting a different story. One story they were not in but call back in a few days, another story the company that makes the lenses had been bought out and they were in limbo another story that the person had misunderstood and they were just backed up because of the holiday. But got them finally and when I went to clean them I noticed something not coming off the glass on both lenses.
I called again and they said it was a watermark of some kind but I did not buy lenses with a watermark. They told me on the phone to come in and they would see about lessening or lightening the effect. Well I went in today Jan 25, and they said that there was nothing they could do. I did not buy or was told that my lenses would have any writing on them.
The person at Lenscrafters said well I could just get used to it or I could return them. What kind of business doesn't disclose this kind of information before buying? What kind of business lets their customers walk out of the store with no recourse?
They knew I was going to get progressive lenses and said nothing. I need glasses to see but they don't seem to care about the situation of as I see it "defective" lenses.
- Some of the staff
- Non-disclosure of watermarks
- Glasses in an hour is a lie
- Different stories being told
Preferred solution: Make it policy to disclose these supposed "watermarks" let customers view a sample pair and let them decide if they can get "used" to it. Also, a public apology and a pair of lenses without this "watermark".

I don't work for them, but it is your responsibility to know your insurance before you go to an appointment.
People need to KNOW their insurance coverage. Take responsibility.
I would be more upset with the insurance company not covering your contacts. Having worked in an optometry office, there have been several instances where our staff verified benefits and eligibility before a patient would come in, then having to bill the patient for something because we were given the wrong information by one of the representatives.
I've called an insurance company out on it, but all they respond with is "the terms of payment are determined when a claim is received and reviewed and are not a guarantee of payment". Complete ***, if you ask me.
That being said, she should have offered alternatives to billing you, such as returning any boxes that weren't covered by the insurance and not have been rude about it.
