They have a new store that opened in december. Everyone got 50% off eyeglasses including lens. Problem is I ordered superthin lens. The lens is noticeably thicker than my glasses that are superthin. Optician claims its either the prescription or the frame size. I dont buy that when i hold them up to compare. Paid $25 extra to have corners buffed down. Hardly any difference at all in thickness. This is not the first time Ive had opticians pull the thin vs superthin trick on me. I had to visit three optometrist shops in california before I got the real deal on superthin lens. Other places lied and i refused the pair they offered even if cheaper. Most likely even though the customer service was acceptable I will not be returning if I can help it.

One Year Extended Warranty misleading sales

We had purchased the extended one year warranty on our glasses because the sales rep advised all is covered except loss and advised us of the low copay amounts. We were even told to mark our calendars to be sure we didn't miss the lense replacement. We went in to order the new lenses and were then told that neither of us were covered under the warranty for lenses because they were varilux which isn't covered. They did advise we would get new frames under the copay. This is ridiculous that we had purchased 3 extended warranties, at different times and different sales persons at the same Lenscrafters location who SOLD us the varilux lenses, yet never mentioned they wouldn't be covered. We will be looking for another vendor under our insurance coverage!

Cincnnati Ohio Lens Crafters at Kenwood Mall

I have spent about the total of $7,000.000 at the Lens Crafter at Kenwood Mall. I recently had lens put in five pair of Cartier Frames.

That cost almost $2,000.000. I live 200 miles from Cincinnati Ohio and have made a big effort for years to buy Cartier glasses at this store. I ask the Manager Jenn to overnight these glasses to me as I needed them really bad because my eyes had changed a lot. She insisted that I pay $36.00 for shipping overnight.

I have never had to pay for overnight shipping in the past. I THINK THIS IS SO CHEAP !!!! I told her I would complain . She had given me a discount on my lenses !!!

But still it is not good business to do your customer this way. I just don,t think it is right and I would like to talk to someone about this

L.C. ships stuffs vis U.P.S.

They need to create a shipping label to mail anything and this can not be discounted. So one of the ways around that is to give a discount on lenses. This is probably what they did for you and you still want to complain? You got your little discount and it’s not enough.

You still want a response because “this isn’t right”. Man of principle? Man of Pettiness! Man of Pretentiousness!

Be happy with what you got and go home. Geeez.

I purchases a pair of glasses with transition lenses at Lenscrafters.
Shortly after my warranty was over my lenses started to fade it looked like the coating was coming off.
I went to store and I was asked if I wore the glasses on my head because it could be fading due to the direct sun.
Really why would I were then on my head and not on my nose.
Anyway I was forced to continue to wear them till finally I could afford to get new.
At the place where i purchase the new lenses I was told that the lenses are defective.
I really like to have them checked I paid lots of money for them and for the store to claim that I baked my glasses it is a joke.
lenses are available for review if needed.

Sounds like your lenses had heat damage. Left in a car or something.

Even if it’s just one time for few minutes it could happen. Even if you’ve done it before many times. They are not defective, this is neglect.

Also, after a year who knows what could have happened to the lenses. To say it’s defective makes no sense.

Defective Product and Horrible Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I came into the Lenscrafters store expecting my scratched lenses to be replaced since I purchased only in May 2018. At the time I explained that I did not want scratch resistant coating since that was a problem in the past and didn’t work for me. It was never explained to me that this is automatically applied and that the only other option would be to get Duralens, which if I heard this I would’ve absolutely chosen. I did not purchase the warranty because I don’t remember anybody having offered that. But even if they did and I chose not to it was because I assumed that no scratch resistant coating would be on the lenses and therefore no need for me to purchase this warranty. Also it was not explained to me that without the warranty the lenses would only be covered for 30 days. So today I had to spend $235 and some change to purchase Duralens lenses that include a warranty that I don’t really want but at this point I don’t know what else might not have been communicated to me. I am asking for a full refund of this amount since it was not communicated to me that the scratch resistant coating is automatically applied even though I said I did not want that, and that the Duralens would’ve been an option for me which I would’ve chosen. The first manager that the sales associate called was cut and dry and could not care less about the fact that I’ve been a customer for decades and that all of my family are customers. They just said that they believe the salesperson over me in regards to having asked if I wanted a warranty. Then the sales associate contacted another manager and explained the situation about the Duralenss not having been offered to me as an option and I was given a $50 discount but still I should not pay anything and should have an apology, instead of having to pay over $235. Also in between all of this when I contacted another store to try to get hold of a manager and explain the situation, the store representative I spoke to on the phone was trying to avoid having me talk to anybody and was rude and cold. I feel that I was treated inappropriately and that my wishes were ignored when I purchased in May 2018, was not given the option to get the lenses that would have not have any coating on them, and I was not treated with respect or dignity. Regardless of anything, a company should stand behind the product and when a coating is coming off glasses after five months and ruining them... then they should stand behind that product, warranty or not.

Disaster

In May 2018, I went to Len’s Crafters in Cordova, TN had an eye exam, picked and purchased frames. I paid out of pocket 300 with insurance. I’ve always been nearsighted and I’ve never wore bifocals although a few years ago I realized I was having trouble seeing certain things close up but I purchased readers for that because it was a big issue for me. Well the doctor never mentioned that he suggest I wear bifocals near did he ask had I ever where bifocals. Once my glasses were ready I picked them up from the store and left, I didn’t try them on and the associate never suggested me to try them on. I waited about an month before I actually decided to wear my glasses because I was wearing contacts which was a previous prescription but I decided to wear my glasses since I had spent so much on them, I figured might as well get my money’s worth. So I put on the glasses and I didn’t know whether to step up or step down, in fact I felt drunk and immediately said, I can’t wear these so I noticed a line in the glasses and then I was told it was for double vision, so I started looking for my prescription, once I found it, I realIzed the doctor ordered two prescriptions for my glasses. Really ?? Who does that and not have that decision with you about double vision, I mean mentioned nothing about this is what he sugggest or have you ever wore bifocals and of course when I took them back to the store it had been over a month and basically it was nothing they could do for me but try to help me look through them in hopes I would get use to them. So I asked on, how much will I need to pay to get new lenses with my one prescription in them, I was told another 300 dollars, they are some damn crooks and I will never nor will I ever suggest anyone to go there. I’ve been wearing glasses and contacts for years and has never had this problem. Miscommunication on the doctor’s part and so now I have a pair of glasses I can’t wear that I’ve waited my insurance and out of pocket 300 dollars on and you mean to tell me you all couldn’t compensate me in any way, never again, Lens Crafters is a scam

Oh brother! You are ridiculous!

Seriously?! So you are quick to blame the Dr. for not telling you that the prescription had a bifocal, quick to blame the LC salesperson because they didn’t explain to you you were getting bifocals, and finally, quick to blame the LC person that gave you the glasses because they didn’t tell you to try them on.. .

. But you let them have your $300??? Real bright, genius! You want people to believe that bifocals weren’t mentioned to you at all, at any time during both of your visits.

Not once?! Then YOU decide to not try them out until some time later and it’s all their fault. Certainly like to play the victim card, huh? You weren’t paying attention.

At all.

Most people are very clear as to what they are getting if they are giving someone a few hundred dollars. I’d make you buy new glasses too just out of principle even if I could waive the cost due to your incompetence or at the least for being naive.

Update*** It’s gets worse. So since I have to work and my wife works somewhat close to Lenscrafters she takes them up there for me.

The guy swaps out the lens. She brings them home and wow they’re wrong yet a 3rd time. This is the same RX I have in my current glasses so I know it’s not the RX. I call the store and the manager says maybe I just haven’t adjusted to them...

Are you joking right now? I have to take them up there yet again 4th time 5th visit to get glasses. They asked what I wanted from them I said how about glasses that I paid for to see. How about that.

Can I get that? I will never ever go to this company again.’

Original review Jul 23, 2018
So I went to LensCrafters cause I wanted glasses quickly and they had the brand I wanted. While there I got a pair of Oakley sunglasses as well. Spending a total of 500 after insurance I was told my glasses would be ready the next day. So that day “Sunday” I go to pick up my glasses. Of course they’re wrong the RX was enter incorrectly by the sales person. I said okay mistakes happen but here is my RX please get them right this time. The next day I was told they were ready. I battle traffic afterwork and head up there. I get there and since I needed to drive I had my contact in. I couldn’t test them and assumed that surely they wouldn’t screw it up again! So I get home take out my contacts to try on my glasses and guess what! They wrong AGAIN, this was after the guy had my RX in his hand twice. The lenscrafts isn’t right around the corner from my house it’s 30 mins with traffic. I now have to go up there a 3rd and 4th time once to drop them off to be fixed and another to pick them up cause they’ve screwed them up not once but twice. It’s not like I bought cheap glasses from a discount shop I paid with insurance over 550 for glasses and can’t even use them. I will never use them again. If you can’t enter in the right RX then maybe you should check your glasses. I assumed after screwing them up once they maybe just maybe would make sure but no... Lets hope that this time the 3rd time they’ll actually get them right. I’ve never had my RX messed up once since I was 5 now in my 30’s much less twice. Oh yeah and by the way everytime I go I wait for 20-30 mins for someone to help me cause they are really under staffed. So now I get to take them back pray they get them right the 3rd time all while being at the store now 5 times. Good thing I paid for the better frames and lens right... I really am surprised they can’t get a RX correct and it was entered incorrectly twice different eye each time. If they aren’t right this time I am going to ask for my money back and just go somewhere else. Bad thing is I can’t get back the hours I’ve wasted just trying to get glasses.

I spent $467.09 out of a total of $759.09 (insurance coverage) I am nearly legally blind in the right eye. I started calling LensCrafters on the 12th day after the order was placed. I was told "No later than Tuesday or Wednesday Sept 11th or 12th. I was told on Sept 11th: "We don't have a tracking number. The order has been lost. We had to reorder yesterday. It's going to take a while." This could have been done nearly one week ago. No other response from LensCrafters management

Purchased lens in August 2017 for my revo frames that I had purchased from them the year before. Was advised by sales associate to purchase the insurance on them that way in six months I could get a pair of brand new lenses. Ordered a new pair in January 2018, didn’t pick them up and have them installed until April. The lens were not lenses like I had originally purchased no scratch resistant coating and didn’t fit my frames. Contacted the store manager in June was told that sense I had them for longer than six months there was nothing she could do. After explaining that we didn’t get them installed until April was informed they have no way of telling when I picked them up, just when I ordered them and they were warranted. When I asked her about the shape of the lens not fitting th frame she informed me that since I had purchased lenses only they did not guarantee the fit of the lens to the frame. I definitely won’t deal with this outfit again.

BAD SERVICE AT BEST

At this very moment I am extremely dissatisfied with the lack of communication and follow up including rude amature customer service by two of your employees in your Store # 359 Baybrook Mall located in in Friendswood Texas 77546

On June 8th, 2018 I completed my Eye exam and received Rx # 8967**** from Dr. Lori Gonzales who was connected to your Store # 359 being this Doctors Office was very customer Service Oriented and very Professional. The same day I decided to try Lenscrafter because my Insurance AETNA PPO provided me with a $ 125. 00 gift certificate and it might be safer and faster that way and being I’m a responsible person and my vision is very important to me I elected to try your Company And received a copy of my order # 101513****359.

The sales person Samantha was average at best and would talk more than listen to my input nevertheless I selected my frames paid for the frame and glasses and was told that being this required special lenses there would be 7 work day turnaround time. On or about June 18, 2018 I received a phone call from your store and went to pick up my glasses, and to my surprise the lenses were not suitable and did not correct my vision and the Store Manager was very Professional and immediately walked over to the Doctors office and they worked it out on what I really needed and asked her to make sure the order is correct because I do not wish to make this lengthy trip to your store again, because it appears to me that the factory never checked it against the prescription, and apparently, instead of checking it at the factory, they shipped it, then and only THEN checking it to see if they got it right!

A week and a half passed, and not hearing form the store I called, and it was answered by a Ms. Alexi and I asked for the Manager and she informed me that she was the Manager on Duty and the store manager was out, so she looked up my order and told me it would take three weeks and asked her to have the Store Manager call me which never occurred.

So today July 22nd, 2018 not having heard anything I decided to call to see where my paid for glasses where I called the store and guess who answered? ALEXI who again informed me that I asked to speak to the store Manager and the initial response I got was again she is not in and ALEXI did not have a date my glasses would be available, so I asked her to have the Store Manager call me the next day, Monday 7/2/018 because if I did not hear from the Store Manager by then, I would be forced to call Lenscrafter Corporate Offices and she stated in the most rude and with an indifferent tone stated the Manager would also be off Monday.

In summary it’s been 46 Calendar days, and no one can tell me when I will receive my paid for merchandise and all I ever end up is having the displeasure of having to deal with a totally RUDE Employee. In summary its sad to see a business have such disrespectful employees and service and FYI you have most certainly lost my business!!!

Originally seen the eye doctor here at the Lens Crafters located at Cumberland Mall on April 10th 2018, I saw a Dr. Kiran Bandali who wrote me the incorrect prescription. Returned back to them within the 90 day to get a new exam for the correct rx and was told I needed to get an analysis done. Mind you, the lady at this location said that she did not know how to do an analysis on the glasses preventing me from seeing the doctor. I let them know that I travel and may not be able to make it back.

As I come back today which is the 91st day. They are attempting to charge me a $40 copayment, not taking in consideration of my time waisted when I originally came to get this done. A very rude representative name John (Ted hair and beard) was very rude, didn’t care about me coming before did not even listen to why the original appointment was not completed, cared less and showed no compassion.

This is the third time I’ve come to this location and received poor service.

Renee Jacobi is the name I was given for the district manager, hence John advised me this was the corporate office so, I’m awaiting her call.

I will also be disputing the $40 charged to my card.

Defective lens

I have had two sets of poly lenses in six months that have started to chip and crack after six weeks.I don't drop them and only use their cleaner.Something is wrong,I can't be the only one this is happening to.I was told by one employee that I did not have a warranty and wished me luck.Went back a week later and talked to someone else. No problem to replace them they want happy customers.

Going on three weeks and still have no glasses. I have worn glasses for twenty-five years and never had a problem before.Next time exam is do I am considering going elsewhere.

I had the same exact thing with my glasses. Lenscrafters would not stand behind them as I had not purchased a "Protection Plan".

They did offer me a 30% discount on a new pair of lenses, as they are only made in pairs, according to them. They gave me a price of $340. some dollars, which is ten dollars less than I paid for the glasses. I told them to shove it.

We're all done. That's how a customer of 22 years is treated?

Never again. I went elsewhere and had the defective lens replaced at a cost of $113.00.

I have a very expensive pair of Ray band progressive lens bifocals that fell in the street and was damage by a car. I have a second pair of glasses, but they were no wear as nice as my Ray Bands. I rushed into the Lens Grafters in Colerain TWS, 45251. I was very upset thinking that I needs to purchase a pair immediately which would have taken 7 to 10 days because of my prescription. Thank goodness for Christa who did a total fix on the frames which I could not believe would be possible. I saved the lens and she reconstructed the frames almost from scratch. This was a level of customer service which I have never seen before. Great Job
